Pressed Rat & Warthog…

Pressed Rat & Warthog
Closed down their shop
They didn’t want to
It was all they had got
Selling atonal apples
Amplified heat
& Pressed Rat’s collection
Of doglegs & feet
Sadly they left
Telling no one goodbye
Pressed Rat wore red jodhpurs
& Warthog his striped tie
Between them they carried
A three legged sack
Went straight round the corner
& never came back
Pressed Rat & Warthog
Closed down their shop
The Bad Captain Madman
Had told them to stop
Selling atonal apples
Amplified heat
& Pressed Rat’s collection
Of doglegs & feet
The Bad Captain Madman
Had ordered their fate
He laughed & stumped off
With a nautical gate
The gate turned into
A derogatory
& his pegleg got woodworm
& broke into three
Pressed Rat & Warthog
Closed down their shop
They didn’t want to
It was all they had got
Selling atonal apples
Amplified heat
& Pressed Rat’s collection
Of doglegs & feet

How to play a record backwards

Categories: Home | No Comments

This is how to play a record backwards in real time.
You will need:
1: A turntable, preferably a Technics 1200/1210 with a regular removable headshell & a Stanton 500 AL or equivalent (I use a Pickering NP/AC) heavy duty stylus.
2: An aerosol can lid.
3: Some Blue Tack
Step 1
Take your aerosol can lid & make a hole in the center just large enough so that the lid fits securely onto the center spindle of the turntable.
Step 2
Take a a small amount of your blue tack & stick it to the upward edge of the aerosol can lid Stick the record you wish to play (backwards) onto the can lid, being careful to center it on the deck at the same time. Make sure you put the side you want to play FACE DOWN on the deck.
Step 3
Clamp the arm into it’s armrest & remove both the headshell & the couterweight. Take the headshell & replace it back on the arm, only UPSIDE DOWN (with the stylus tip pointing upwards).
Step 4
Very carefully move the tone arm UNDER the record & place it in the run off spiral.
Select the correct speed & hit the start button, your record should now be playing backwards :-)

Disclaimer: I cannot be held responsible for any damage to records, deck or stylus brought about by you trying this. Be careful.
